This project asks the question, can we eliminate one of the 3 struts?
While the simple answer is yes, (reference the success of the MOTH community) The longer discussion is more complicated.
1) Mission requires a wide footprint of stability, the Bi-Fin does not offer enough beam for roll axis moment.
2) Considering the the CG is fixed on centerline, pilot seated, the Bi-fin cannot rely on an active pilot / sailor moving CG outboard.
BONUS FEATURE:
STAY UP RIGHT.
All configurations can be configured to Self-Righting at will
(Patent Pending)
The Bi-Fin Project is Completed Focus on Tri-Fin configuration
